Research

KACP supports research led by its members, helps researchers find collaborators, and holds meetings where findings are presented and discussed.

What the Association does

Collaboration

KACP links members across public and private laboratories, universities and hospitals, which makes multicentre studies possible and helps researchers find partners, sites and data.

Scientific exchange

Our conferences, symposia and webinars give members a forum to present, discuss and critically evaluate scientific, technological and methodological advances in pathology.

Research support

Help with multicentre study design, access to peers for review, and encouragement to publish, including through the Association’s own publications.

Evidence for practice

Research findings inform the guidelines and standards the divisions work on.

The Research and Development Committee

The committee facilitates collaborative research, helps members look for funding, and promotes innovation in laboratory medicine and clinical pathology practice.

Take part

  • To propose a study, find collaborators or ask for support, write to the Secretariat at info@kacp.co.ke.
  • To join the Research and Development Committee, use the join form.
  • Guidelines, position statements and member research appear under Publications.

Research in the strategic plan

The Strategic Plan 2025 to 2030 makes collaborative research a priority. KACP will:

  • Develop research agreements with industry, universities, practitioners and other pathology organisations.
  • Take part in collaborative studies and share their results.
  • Promote the uptake of research findings in practice and policy.
  • Support a KACP journal and build members’ capacity to publish.

Research is led by the Editorial and Research Committee, with support from the Scientific and Education Committee for members undertaking scientific investigations.
