Council MemberDr. Teresa Lotodo
Dr. Lotodo is a Senior Lecturer at Moi University School of Medicine, where she chairs the Department of Pathology, and a consultant pathologist at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. She trained in haematopathology, flow cytometry and cytogenetics at Indiana University, and now leads a project to widen the use of flow cytometry for leukaemia diagnosis in Western Kenya. In 2021 she received the College of American Pathologists Pathology Education Award.

Dr. Teresa Lotodo is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine, Moi University, and the current Chair of the Department of Pathology. She is a consultant pathologist (AP/CP) at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. With over 12 years of experience, she is recognised for her leadership in pathology diagnostics, training and mentorship, and is currently pursuing a PhD at Moi University.
She holds a Master of Medicine in Human Pathology from the University of Nairobi and has received specialised training in haematopathology, flow cytometry and cytogenetics at Indiana University, USA. She also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Genetics and Genomics at Oxford Brookes University, UK.
Dr. Lotodo is actively involved in teaching, mentorship and research. She serves as Co Principal Investigator on the Multiple Myeloma grant and Principal Investigator on the flow cytometry grant, which includes initiatives aimed at expanding the use of flow cytometry for leukaemia diagnosis in Western Kenya. She coordinates Flow Cytometry ECHO sessions and a professional WhatsApp case discussion network of over 500 members. She sits on the Executive Committee of the Kenya Association of Clinical Pathologists as a council member.
She is widely published and has received several awards, including the 2021 College of American Pathologists Pathology Education Award and the 2025 AORTIC Christopher K. Williams Best Abstract Award. Her work focuses on strengthening diagnostic capacity and expanding access to high quality pathology services in Kenya.
