KACP runs continuing education for pathologists, laboratory scientists and trainees through webinars, symposia, workshops and its scientific conference.
How we teach
CME webinars
Short, CPD accredited online sessions on current practice, open to members and colleagues across the country. In May 2026, KACP and AstraZeneca hosted a webinar on integrative BRCA 1 and 2 diagnostics and therapeutics.
Symposia and workshops
Full day meetings on a single theme. Nairobi Scientific Day 2026, held on 15 September with Radiometer and Nexus Medical, focused on quality systems and the clinical impact of point of care testing.
Biennial scientific conference
The Association’s main scientific meeting. The 16th conference, held in Malindi in October 2023, covered myeloma, cervical cancer, forensic pathology, digital pathology, point of care testing and infectious disease, and closed with the Annual General Meeting.
Mentorship and trainees
Support for residents and early career pathologists, from mentorship sessions at our conferences to the chance to present work and meet senior colleagues in their field.
The Education and Training Committee
The committee develops curriculum standards, organises continuing medical education and supports the professional development of pathologists and laboratory staff. It works with the seven specialist divisions so that each meeting draws on people who practise in that field.

- Build a local reference pathology database.
- Encourage innovation, including the responsible use of artificial intelligence in practice.
- Audit current pathology training programmes and take part in curriculum development and review.
- Work to align training, regulation and practice.
This work is led by the Scientific and Education Committee, which develops training programmes, workshops and continuing professional development for members.
